"Mirror Of Souls"는 Theocracy라는 밴드의해서 불려진 곡으로 멜로딕한 헤비메탈을 감상할 수있는 곡이라고 말할수있겠다. 위의 파워풀한 리듬과 함께 들려주는 삶의 또다른 미학이라는 경지를 도달하게 해주는 곡이 아닌가 생각해 보게된다. 위의 곡의 특징이라면 프로그래시버의 특징이 살려서 곡의 흐름 전개가 파트별로 나누어져 있다는 점이 특이하며 22분이라는 긴곡임에도 불구하고 지루하지 않음을 느낄수있다. 우리 삶의 의미가 상실 되어가고 있는 순간에 들어보면 좋을 에너지 충만의 100프로가 되는 곡이라 생각된다.

"BEHOLD THYSELF" a voice rings out in paralyzing thunder It echoes all throughout the hall and sends me to my knees When the voice calls my name I'm overcome with fear and wonder
As I slowly start to rise and face the great mirror in front of me When I open my eyes, I have to close them again 'Cause it's not me
I run away as fast as my feet will carry me Back to the door leading into the night Even the storm that almost claimed my life was better than this And so I throw open the door and see a man (The figure of a man) The stranger from the storm returns again (To save me once again?) I see understanding in his eyes (He's seen this all before) Maybe he can tell me what I saw behind that door
"Tell me what I saw in the mirror Before I ran away Tell me what I saw in the mirror That face of sickness and decay Tell me what I saw in the mirror That left me terrorized With the lifeless, blackened eyes? The meaning of these things I saw: The mirror is the holy eyes of God The truth unveiled before me with these words of the stranger: "The mirrors you saw in the hall long ago Were mirrors of lies, not reflecting the soul When you look unto others to see what they see You see an illusion, deception, false reality"

"Heavy Metal Thunder"는 메시아 예언이라는 밴드가 불러주었던 곡으로서 화이트 메탈의 진면목을 고스란히 살려난 곡이자 연주가 아닌가한다. 그들의 노래는 진리와 영혼의 소중함을 노래로 불러준다. 당신의 삶이 죽느냐 사느냐에 관련된 이야기를 노래로 풀어주고 있다. 위의 밴드는 크리스천 헤비메탈의 원조가 되는 밴드라고 말할수가 있겠다. 이런 사운드의 노래는 80년도의 대표적인 기타 리프트의 예로 보여지며, 전설적인 그룹이라는 말이 어색하지 않음은 그들은 영혼을 부르는 노래를 하고 있어서 일지도 모른다.
"He is the Rock"은Whitecross의 그들의 데뷰앨범에 수록된 곡으로서 솔직 담백한 가사말은 그들의 경험에서 탄생된것 같다. 노래의 반복적 리듬으로 나오는 가사말..."He is Rock"라는 부분은 흥미롭고 노래가 다 끝이나도 메아리처럼 여운으로 남겨진다. 그는 견고한 바위와 같아요.라고 말해주듯이 우리 삶의 진리를 찾아서 헤메이는 방황하는 영혼을 붙잡아 주고 위안을 해줄 견고한 바위와도 같은 믿음을 가진 분이라는 의미를 포함하고 있었다.
" Whisper in The Dark" 은 스킬렛이라는 락 밴드가 들려주는 곡으로서 얼트네이티브 크리스천 락부분에서 가장 성공한 케이스가 아닌가한다. 위의 노래는 귀속으로 들려오는 어둠의 속삭임을 통해서 전달하고자 하는 메세지는 희망적이고 긍정적인 마인드로 생각을 바꾸게 유도한다. 며칠전에 페이스북을 통해서 알게된 친구의 딸이 정신병으로 고통을 받고 있었다. 그녀의 페이스북 포스팅에는 이런 글이 있었다. "내 스스로 몸을 학대하라고 귀에서 누군가 속삭이고 있어요. 나도 어떻게 해야할지 모르겠어요. 내가 자해를 하면 기분이 좋아진다고 속삭여요." 라고 쓰여져 있었다. 정신적으로 고통을 받고 있는 그들을 위한 희망적인 메세지가 담겨진 노래를 들어보자. 우리가 이겨낼수 있는 고통만을 내려준다는 그분의 말을 기억하면서.

"The Flood"는 정통 메탈 그룹인 Sacred Warrior라는 밴드가 들려주는 세상의 멸망을 예언하는 노래 가사말로서 우리의 육신은 언젠가는 죽고 말지만 영혼과 관련된 기본 모토를 중심으로 한 곡으로서 삶에 대한 솔직하고 진실된 그들의 고백을 듣게 된다. 대홍수가 나는 그 시간, 우리들에게 주어진 시간은 얼마 없다는 하나의 경고장과도 같은 큰 느낌을 안겨다 주는 곡으로서 들어보면 시원한 메탈의 기운을 느끼고 한편으로는 답답한 가슴의 해답을 전해 줄수도 있는 곡이기도 하다.

Kerry Livgren이 작사를 한곡으로서 원래의 의도는 복음과 관련되어 있는 곡은 아니지만 길 잃은 한 영혼이 인생의 참된 의미를 찾고자 하는 깊은 의미가 담겨져 있는 곡이였다. 위의 곡을 통해서 케리는 1980년도에 크리스천으로 새로운 삶을 살아가게된다. 그후, 위의 노래 가사말의 진정한 의미는 자신을 향한 노래였다고 말했다. 진정한 삶의 의미를 찾아 나섰던 한 뮤지션의 방황이 그를 만나서 끝이났고 그의 삶은 변화가 되었다.
"Where the Streets Have No Name" U2의 명반으로 알려진 Joshua Tree(1987)앨범에 수록된 곡으로서 리드보컬 보노가 직접 작사한 노래였다. 위의 뮤직비디오 촬영지는 가장 빈민층이 많이 사는 곳에서 직접 촬영를 했었고 그들이 전달하고자 하는 메세지가 함축되어 있었다. U2는 위의 곡을 통해서 소외된층을 향한 영혼의 부르짖음에 응답하듯 아무도 알아 주지 않던 그 거리에서 당당히 가슴을 펼치듯 노래로 그들의 가슴을 움직이기 시작했다.
